Fabric Store

About Us

Forsyth Fabrics was founded in 1949 by Atlanta Law School graduate Dave Kaplan and his wife Lillian. The Kaplans started the business by selling fabrics from the back of a used WWII Army ambulance.

Forsyth Fabrics, located at 1190 Foster Street N.W. Atlanta, Georgia, was originally opened only to the trade, but in 1981 the decision was made to open to the public. Today Forsyth Fabrics offers thousands of bolts of contemporary and traditional fabrics including silk, linen, cotton, chenilles, velvet, and damask as well as an extensive trim and tassel department.

The Design Center located inside Forsyth Fabrics provides a full workroom of services which includes re-upholstery, custom draperies, and also furniture sales.

Shopping online is the latest in improvements and growth of Forsyth Fabrics.

Forsyth Fabrics has been voted "Best Fabric Store" year after year by the readers of
Atlanta Magazine.

We are known for our huge selection, great prices and our commitment to excellence in customer service.

Forsyth Fabrics is now owned by the daughters of Dave and Lillian Kaplan- Betty Delman, Nancy Kanter, and Janice Zivitz.
